Union logs onto a new log of claims
The Public Service Association (PSA) has developed a log of claims for a new Enterprise Agreement to replace the current one which expires on 30 June this year.
Chief Industrial Officer of the PSA, Peter Christopher, said the claim followed worksite representative meetings during 2011 and a survey of members.
Mr Christopher said the new set of claims would succeed the South Australian Government Wages Parity (Salaried) Enterprise Agreement 2010.
He said the new claims included a fair and reasonable salary increase for all members; protection of existing conditions; job security; improvements to conditions and allowances; Agency/classification specific schedules to deal with particular requirements; better workload protection; improvements to classifications and increments; and a ‘no extra claims clause’ which would allow PSA to pursue additional claims in the event that Government or its Agents breached the terms of the agreement.

Mr Christopher said issues such as the date of effect for payment of the initial and subsequent pay increases and the life of the Agreement were also significant matters for negotiation.
“Members will be kept informed of developments, and will be provided the opportunity for input to negotiations,” Mr Christopher said.
“This claim outline will of course be underpinned by extensive detail during the course of negotiations.”
He said the PSA sought an outcome in the Enterprise Agreement which as a total package provided worthwhile benefits to members.
