Walnut Cake
   3 eggs
   3/4 cup caster sugar
   3/4 cup self-raising flour
   3 tsp ground cinnamon
   185g melted butter
   3/4 cup chopped walnuts
Syrup:
   1 cup sugar
   3/4 cup water

   Grease a 23 cm square slab pan.
Beat eggs until thick and creamy.  Gradually add sugar and beat until dissolved.  Beat in sifted flour and cinnamon in several batches.  Beat in butter, then stir in walnuts.
   Pour into pan and bake in moderate 180 deg C oven for 30 minutes.  Stand for 5 minutes then turn onto rack with a plate underneath the rack.  Pour hot syrup over hot cake.
   To make the syrup, cook sugar and water over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.  Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
